Margie and the Bug

posted in: Portraits | 1

Margie has a lot in common with her vintage VW beetle: both are fun, cute, unique and look great in pictures! I have been bugging(see what I did there) Margie about doing this photo shoot ever since she moved here from California a year ago. How gorgeous is this girl? I cannot get over how nicely Margie compliments her car in her super chic mint green dress and cowboy boots. And those curls and bright eyes–perfection! Listen, Margie, you may be a California girl, but Texas suits you pretty darn well!

Family Photos at Fritz Park

posted in: Family | 0

I took photos of this fun bunch at Fritz Park this past weekend. I gotta hand it to them, they did a great job picking their outfits! The mom, Mary, told me she first chose an outfit for Mary Claire (the cutie in the flower dress), and then based everyone else’s outfits around that! I just love a family with a lot of kids. Three girls and three boys–how sweet is that? I also love the re-occurrence of red heads in this group! Enjoy some of my favorites from the day below!

Joey’s First Birthday — a Family Affair

posted in: Baby, Family | 1

Joey has turned one-year-old, and to commemorate, we snapped some picture of this adorable little guy and his family-mom, dad, grandpa and grandma! Inez and Dave are such an awesome couple–and cute to boot! Joey’s grandparents, Rafael and Mary, live in southern Texas, and came up to visit for the weekend. Joey is their first grandchild, and it was so awesome to see them playing with him. There is so much love in this family!

I had so much fun with everyone. The whole family was so laid back, and constantly laughing, smiling and joking. One of my favorite moments was when Mary, trying to get Joey to look for a picture, started quacking and flapping her arms. Inez was turned away for the picture, and lamented that she didn’t get to see her mom acting so hilarious. I was sorry I didn’t snap a picture for her! familyh-5223 familyh5 familyh-5236 familyh7 familyh-5111 familyh4 familyh3familyh6familyh2familyh-4756 familyh1 familyh-4977 familyh-5133 familyh-5121 familyh-5266familyh-5195

Family Photos at the Dallas Arboretum

posted in: Baby, Family | 0

The Dallas Arboretum is beautiful this time of year. It was the perfect setting for some family photos of Tom, Margaret, Annie and Tommy. This family is great! I know Margaret from my moms’ group. She is so down to earth, and makes me laugh with her astute comments and hint of sarcasm. Tom is a sturdy, loving father and husband. Annie has an adventurous spark, and she allowed me to follow her as she ventured about (ok, I think she was a little weirded out by the crazy lady following her with the camera, which is probably an appropriate reaction). Tommy is so bright and cheerful. He was one of the most compliant babies I have ever photographed. All I had to do was call his name, and he would turn his head and beam at me! After taking in some of the gardens, we made our way to the huge seasonal pumpkin display, where Annie loved exploring and picking up the pumpkins. After that, I snapped a few photos of Tommy in his Baptismal gown. All in all, it was a great day at the Arboretum with a magnificent family! Enjoy a few of my favorites below!

Baby Joseph is One!

posted in: Baby, Family, Maternity | 0

I met Joseph and his parents on Saturday to take some picture for his first birthday. Joseph is such a smart little man! His impressive vocabulary includes “baby” “hoo-ray!” “quack” and many Spanish words (mom and dad both speak Spanish as well as English. I’m jealous.) Bryan and Elanita are such good parents to Joseph, and I am so excited for them because they are expecting another baby soon! Before we called it a day, we stopped to look at the ducks at on the pond. Joseph loved it! When mom and dad told him we were going to see the ducks, he started quacking in anticipation! What a cutie!

Welcoming a New Baby Girl

posted in: Baby, Family | 0

Saturday morning I met Tanya, Dave, William and the new addition to their family, a beautiful baby girl named Ellie, at Fritz Park. I loved capturing images of this beautiful family and their newest bundle of joy. During a feeding break for Ellie, while father and son were off playing, Tanya remarked on what a good father Dave is, and how seeing that quality in him was how she knew she had found the one. She then shared with me the story of how she met David and some of the details of their wedding. And here they are, two kids later! It’s awesome to see such a loving family welcoming a new baby. Congratulations to Tanya, Dave and your family!

Clare Takes Dallas by Storm

posted in: Personal, Portraits | 0

I was so lucky to have my sister Clare visit last week! Not only was Clare great company, but she cooked, cleaned, organized my entire apartment, and took care of Ria. Understandably, when her plane flight out of here drew near, I was ready to lock her in the back room. Unfortunately my conscience got the better of me and I let her leave me to my old responsibilities. But before she left, we went out to downtown Dallas for a photo shoot! We had a great time stolling around the Dallas Museum of Art and Kylde Warren Park. Take a look at these photos and you will understand why Clare has been dubbed by me and my sisters “the pretty one”.  Now if only I could convince her to move here….ClareDallas1 ClareDallas-2204 ClareDallas3 ClareDallas2xClareDallas5ClareDallas-9050 ClareDallas-2250 ClareDallas4 ClareDallas-2340 ClareDallas-2346

Grapevine Gals

What better way to commemorate a best friend’s visit than a photo shoot in a historic Texas downtown? Susannah’s best friend Andrea is visiting from Michigan, and she thought it would be a fun idea to take some pics in downtown Grapevine. Main street was closed for preparations for a festival, but Susannah negotiated our way in and we got the VIP treatment! These girls were such fun models! They were pros at posing, and best of all, just had a good time!  Awesome models, exclusive location and a fun day on the town–it was a photographer’s dream! I got to take pictures of Susannah’s daughter’s Baptism earlier this year, and I love working with this awesome, beauitful, mama! Don’t forget to visit her blog, and let her know if you liked the pictures!

Birthday Cake Smash!

posted in: Baby, Family | 0

What better way to celebrate a first birthday then a birthday cake smash? I met Vincent and his family at Rochelle park on Saturday. We snapped some family photos and then set up for birthday celebrations! This family is awesome! Brendan and Danna were so friendly and filled with love for their kids and each other. Jackson is the awesome big brother. He is such a sweet young man and a great helper! I was so impressed by his maturity. And Vincent–well he is quite the cutie pie, as you can see!

Another Baby on the Way!

posted in: Maternity | 1

I met Kayla, Wyatt and William at the Grapevine botanical gardens Sunday evening for some family and maternity photos. These three are so adorable together, and Kayla is an absolutely stunning pregnant lady! We got to chatting, and I found out that like me they are transplants from the Northwest, hailing from Spokane, Washington! They have even been to my hometown of Helena, Montana before! So how do these three feel about living in Texas? They love it! Kayla and Wyatt said they especially enjoy being warm during the winter months, and we all agreed that we love the warm community here (see what I did there?). William was so well behaved and melting my heart with his cuteness. Kayla had warned me that he may not smile for the photos, but William exceeded expectations! He even made everyone else laugh (including me) when, spurred by all the talk of baby bellies, he pulled up his shirt and starting pointing to his own! Kayla and Wyatt are waiting to find out at birth whether they are having a boy or girl. I can deduce one thing for sure from the state of the rest of the family: this baby is going to be veritably charming!MaternityS1MaternityS-2bMaternityS-2 MaternityS3 MaternityS-0591b MaternityS-0981 MaternityS4 MaternityS2 MaternityS-0783 MaternityS-0759 MaternityS-0642MaternityS-0916 MaternityS-0812
