How cute is this family? Seven beautiful children, all under twelve, makes for a family teeming with vitality, heart and warmth.

Mom and dad make quite the dynamic duo! 
I took these photos of Gabe along a hilly path on a beautiful autumn Texas evening. Gabe and I went to the same college, where I knew him as an interesting guy, a poet, and an actor; but I don’t think I ever had the pleasure of hanging out with him. Turns out he is friendly, kind, cool – and quite a handsome fellow, wouldn’t you say?
I had such a blast photographing a fun and loving family this weekend. The kids were so boisterous and full of energy. The three girls are as sweet as can be, and were always ready to turn up the charm for the camera. The older boys knew how to keep it cool. The little dude didn’t see why he shouldn’t just run right up to the camera and steal the show! Mom and Dad handled the whole bunch like pros. They should certainly be proud to be nurturing such a loving, wonderful family. The way I see it, there is no better way to spend a crisp autumn afternoon than with friends, family, live folk music, beer and brats, carnival games, a live auction, and people dressed in lederhosen! Lucky for me, St. Francis Montessori was hosting their annual Oktoberfest this weekend! My family and I spent the late afternoon and early evening enjoying the sights, sounds and smells of this festive event. In painted faces, children bustled from game to game, and cut loose in the bouncy house, while the adults enjoyed beer, folk music, and German dancing, and snagged some inestimable goods during the live auction (whoever got the brunch at the Four Seasons, let me know if you need another member for your party!). Needless to say, a good time was had by all!
I love this girl! During our impromptu photo shoot the other day, she put up with my craziness like a pro! At one point I even asked her to say “Hey you took my birthday cake!”, mostly because I wanted to see if she would shout a random accusation in public (she did), but also to test the waters to see if taking her birthday cake would ever be a feasible option. You might think I’m kidding, but her birthday is next week. In all seriousness I wouldn’t really do that. No way am I putting myself in that line of fire! To sum up, this girl is lovely. But don’t ever take her birthday cake.
