I got to take photos of the most adorable family last weekend. I’ve photographed this family before, and as I was saying hi to the kids, I thought to myself, “That’s funny, I don’t remember one of these little munchkins being there last time”. It hit me afterward–that’s because she was a baby last time! It’s so awesome to see how all the little ones have all grown! And there has been a new addition since I last saw this family – a beautiful baby girl! The kids are such a close knit group. The older ones watch out for the younger ones, and they all take turns making each other smile and laugh. While I was taking his individual shots, one of the little guys started to become unhappy. Without missing a beat, his little sis ran over and gave him a big hug. After that, he had the biggest smiles for me! Their parents take care of the bunch so well. And their mother is just radiant, isn’t she? I loved taking photos of this beautiful family!
Birthday Cake Smash!
What better way to celebrate a first birthday then a birthday cake smash? I met Vincent and his family at Rochelle park on Saturday. We snapped some family photos and then set up for birthday celebrations! This family is awesome! Brendan and Danna were so friendly and filled with love for their kids and each other. Jackson is the awesome big brother. He is such a sweet young man and a great helper! I was so impressed by his maturity. And Vincent–well he is quite the cutie pie, as you can see!
Another Baby on the Way!
I met Kayla, Wyatt and William at the Grapevine botanical gardens Sunday evening for some family and maternity photos. These three are so adorable together, and Kayla is an absolutely stunning pregnant lady! We got to chatting, and I found out that like me they are transplants from the Northwest, hailing from Spokane, Washington! They have even been to my hometown of Helena, Montana before! So how do these three feel about living in Texas? They love it! Kayla and Wyatt said they especially enjoy being warm during the winter months, and we all agreed that we love the warm community here (see what I did there?). William was so well behaved and melting my heart with his cuteness. Kayla had warned me that he may not smile for the photos, but William exceeded expectations! He even made everyone else laugh (including me) when, spurred by all the talk of baby bellies, he pulled up his shirt and starting pointing to his own! Kayla and Wyatt are waiting to find out at birth whether they are having a boy or girl. I can deduce one thing for sure from the state of the rest of the family: this baby is going to be veritably charming!
Patrick’s Birthday
Patrick is one year old! To mark the occasion, I got to take some pictures of this little man and his awesome parents!
Stephanie, Mike and Patrick were our first neighbors here in Irving. When we first met last year, Stephanie would bring Patrick for a play date, which consisted mostly of the babies lying on their backs and looking at each other inquisitively. Nowadays, Patrick is all over the place, pulling up and going back down again, and crawling all over the room. I have just loved watching him grow! Patrick will often greet you with a solemn, serious face, but give him a smile or a tickle and you will quickly see him light up. What a cutie!
Julia’s Baptism
I had the honor of photographing the Baptism of a sweet baby girl at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Fort Worth last weekend. Julia is the second daughter of Susannah and Anthony. She is about a month old, and like her older sister, Alicia, she is very petite.
Susannah, aka the Ever So Crafty Mom , is a woman of many talents: blogging, baking, sewing, decorating, and all-around master of anything crafty. In fact, guess who made Julia’s beautiful christening gown? Anthony is light-hearted and kind. With two wonderful little girls in tote, these two look like they could not be happier. What a beautiful family!
I was struck by the beauty and symbolism of the Latin Rite Baptism. It starts outside the church doors, symbolizing that the baby has not yet entered the Church. The entire rite is full of such beautiful, effacacious symbolism: laying on of the hands, the imposition of blessed salt, the anointing with chrism, and of course the pouring of the water.
What a joyous occasion! Anthony’s family came to witness and celebrate, and I got to snap a picture of the whole bunch!
Congratulations to Julia and here blessed family!
Family, Easter, Bluebonnets Galore!
My blog has become overgrown with bluebonnets, and I am loving it! This time of year is amazing! It’s as if Texas knows it’s Eastertide, and decorates accordingly!
You may remember this family from a previous post. This time, I got to take some fresh and fun Easter pictures. Their bright personalities perfectly complemented the vibrant flower field.
These kids are too cute!
Gotta love it when they cut loose in front of the camera! 🙂
Since I last photographed this awesome family, I have started following Taylor Marshall’s blog. Great stuff!
Then There Were Four
I was so blessed on Saturday to take pictures of Theresa, Will and Cecelia as they get ready to welcome baby number two into their family. As Irving begins to blossom with the beauty of spring, a canal at sunrise seems like the perfect time and place to celebrate new life. Cecelia is an audacious explorer–she was constantly picking up rocks, pointing at the wildlife and trying to slip away from the photo session to find adventure. I have a feeling the new little one is going to be an early crawler trying to keep up with big sis!
Will and Theresa are waiting to find out the gender of the new baby (I commend their patience!). So what’s your guess, boy or girl?
Mercy & Josi
Look at these cute gals! I love taking pics of this spunky mother-daughter combo. Josi is constantly on the move. As Mercy put it, take care of this baby for a week and you’ll drop ten pounds. Josi may be rambunctious, but Mercy can keep up and then some. These two are a force to be reckoned with!
Irving is iced in right now, so I hope these pictures serve as a reminder of the beauty of autumn. It feels like I was soaking in the warm sun just yesterday (probably because I was, on Wednesday!). Next up, an ice and snow photo shoot. How bout it, Mercy?
An All American Family
I had the opportunity of photographing a wonderful all-American family this weekend! The pictures will be sent to their oldest son, who is in the Navy. I could tell that this family values courage and commitment. It was an honor to photograph this tried-and-true gang!
