Wyatt: One Year Old! Family Photos at the Dallas Arboretum

posted in: Baby, Family | 0

I met Wyatt, Marika and Nick on an autumnal day at the Dallas Arboretum. It was so great to take photos of this sweet family! Wyatt was so cute playing in the pumpkin patch! Marika and Nick were totally cool and fun to hang out with. Marika works at a parks and rec. department(yes, she is a fan of the TV show–she told me it is more true to life than you might think!) Nick is an archaeologist! How cool is that? I asked him what interesting artifacts he has found, and he told me that he once excavated ancient arrowheads. Towards the end of the session, Wyatt was starting to get a little done-with-it all, but then his grandparents showed up, and he brightened up really fast! It was so sweet! Below are a few of the highlights from the day. I hope you like them!

Thomas is 6 Months Old!

Thomas is 6 months old, and his parents thought it would be a good time to take some photos of this cutie along with some family pictures! Thomas is such a sweetie pie. I love his red hair! His mom came prepared with baby blankets and some of his favorite books, which amped the cuteness factor up even more! I had a great time with these guys. Nathanael and Geralyn are so cool. When I met them at Centennial Park, we realized that we had met before at a party! It’s such a small world around here! I just love the photos we got, and I hope you do too!

Mercy & Josi

Look at these cute gals! I love taking pics of this spunky mother-daughter combo. Josi is constantly on the move. As Mercy put it, take care of this baby for a week and you’ll drop ten pounds. Josi may be rambunctious, but Mercy can keep up and then some. These two are a force to be reckoned with!

Irving is iced in right now, so I hope these pictures serve as a reminder of the beauty of autumn. It feels like I was soaking in the warm sun just yesterday (probably because I was, on Wednesday!). Next up, an ice and snow photo shoot. How bout it, Mercy?

Oktoberfest!

posted in: Events | 4

The way I see it, there is no better way to spend a crisp autumn afternoon than with friends, family, live folk music, beer and brats, carnival games, a live auction, and people dressed in lederhosen! Lucky for me, St. Francis Montessori was hosting their annual Oktoberfest this weekend! My family and I spent the late afternoon and early evening enjoying the sights, sounds and smells of this festive event. In painted faces, children bustled from game to game, and cut loose in the bouncy house, while the adults enjoyed beer, folk music, and German dancing, and snagged some inestimable goods during the live auction (whoever got the brunch at the Four Seasons, let me know if you need another member for your party!). Needless to say, a good time was had by all!
